While sales have shown steady growth of over 70% in the last 2 years, the company is still loss making. One of the reasons is its high debt levels and the resulting high interest burden. That is why, despite very attractive levels of EBITDA margins, the company is making a net loss as the interest cost is adding up. The company has been making losses for the last 3 years, resulting in negative PAT margins and negative ROE and ROA.
VALUATION METRICS OF HORIZON INDUSTRIAL PARKS LTD IPO
Being a loss-making company, traditional valuation metrics may not be applicable in case of Horizon Industrial Parks Ltd. However, the following points can serve as a guide to investors to decide on whether to invest in the IPO.
Most of the industrial and logistics properties developed by the company are in the Grade-A category, so the quality of assets is an edge.
Its offerings are well-spread across some of the key markets in India like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad etc.
Its 100 plus customers are spread across various industrial verticals like ecommerce, quick commerce, retail, FMCG, third party logistics etc. This derisks the business model.
Prover expertise in developing high-quality infrastructure and the track record of performance also shows for itself. That helps in a competitive market.
With the backing of Blackstone group, the company has put in place a high-quality and professional management team for sustained growth.
Developing industrial parks is a long-gestation business and takes time for the profits to flow in. If you look at sheer per-capita opportunity in India, it is huge. That should make this IPO attractive to investors with a longer-term perspective of 2-3 years.
