The company sales have been static over the last 2 years, after a sharp fall in the previous year. However, the PAT margins have picked up sharply, although the ROE shows that profits have not kept pace with the equity expansion.
At the current issue price of ₹91 per share, the valuation of the company is at a P/E ratio of 14.3X in terms of latest year EPS. This is reasonable if you look at the comparable players in the API segment. The company also brings some intangibles to the table. The company has a strong pipeline product catering to pharma, nutraceuticals, veterinary needs etc. It is also into outsourcing manufacture, which is an emerging profitable model in pharma. In this business, customer approval cycle stend to be long, so that acts as an entry barrier. While, the company may be small, it has the model and the financials in its favour.
